The Caribbean, beautiful in every sense of the word, we all dream of drinking a cocktail from a coconut on the beach while enjoying the sound of the waves of the calm, Caribbean sea, lap onto the shore. But with the hundreds of islands within the Caribbean archipelago, how do you make a choice? Which one should you visit? We are here to help.We’ll be counting down our top 10 picks. This top 10 is in random order .


JamaicaJamaica

#10 – We’re kicking off the list with the most iconic of the Caribbean Islands, I mean who doesn’t remember the movie “Cool Runnings”, or the famous singer Bob Marley. Yes, Jamaica has contributed much to the worlds social scene, but when you peel back the public view of Jamaica, you really see a beautiful country at its core. From the absolutely stunning Blue Mountains to the 7 mile long beach at Negril. Jamaica can offer much to any tourist and definitely earns a spot on our top 10.

Antigua and Barbuda#9

 

#9 – Antigua and Barbuda365 Beaches, that’s one beach for every day of the year!! That’s reason enough, we’re sold already. While beaches would be the obvious attraction to Antigua and Barbuda, it’s not the only thing the island has to offer. Gorgeous sights to the south of the island over-looking the island of Montserrat, swimming with sting rays at sting ray city and zip-lining are just a few of the attractions that Antigua and Barbuda has to offer.

St.Lucia#8

 

#8 -Next on the list is none other than the home of the world famous St.Lucia Jazz Festival. And it is definitely a destination you should consider. A great mix of beaches and mountainous forest. The Pitons ( two iconic mountains on St.Lucia ) are known worldwide for their beauty and is quite a staple of the island. They will provide you with jaw dropping views. St. Lucia offers the adventurous tourist amazing beaches, snorkeling and zip-lining also visiting the Soufrier volcano is quite an experience. But as mentioned before the St.Lucia Jazz Festival is definitely one of the prime attractions of St.Lucia.

St.Vincent And The Grenadines#7

 

#7 – Moving along to number 7 is St.Vincent and the Grenadines. This island chain is made up of 32 remote islands  which offer so much, from Lush emerald hills, Amazing harbors, bone white sandy beaches and of course mountainous terrain. Had your fill of the mainland St.Vincent? Catch a ferry and sail over to Mustique, Bequia or many more of the islands and soak up the sand, surf and sun.

Dominica#6

 

#6 – Dominica the nature island, this island is widely popularized as the only island in the Caribbean that Christopher Columbus would recognize if he revisited the Caribbean. Unlike the other islands, Commercial Development is not encouraged, hence Dominica is virtually untouched beauty. Amazing, towering mountains, lush forests,winding rivers and the world’s second largest boiling lake. All these natural attractions make Dominica look like a natural gem of the Caribbean. If you’re adventurous or love nature then Dominica is the place to go.

St.Kitts And Nevis#5

#5 – St. Kitts and Nevis, what a beautiful pair of islands. Beautiful sites, rich culture and rare black sand beaches. These two islands have really got it all. Looking for  more of a getaway, seclusion type of vacation? Head over to Nevis and enjoy the hills and beaches, care and worry free. You will feel right at home in paradise.

Barbados#4

#4 – Now, who have not heard about Barbados? Whether its from hearing about cool celebrity getaways or from the hit singer Rihanna, Barbados is definitely in the public view, and with good reason. Barbados is the most eastern of all the Caribbean islands and rather than being volcanic it is formed with limestone, hence the island is flatter rather than mountainous.

While the island doesn’t have much to offer in the form of rain forests or mountains it makes up for it with its amazing beaches, Barbados has amazing beaches. If your not relaxing sipping that cocktail we mentioned, your missing out. That is not all there is to do in Barbados though. Barbados offers its visitors many additional attractions like Atlantis tours, a submarine tour to the sea floor or Harrison’s Cave Tram tour. If you are looking for a little more adventure take the hike to and through Cole’s cave. Whatever you choose Barbados will leave you feeling refreshed.

Grenada#3

 

#3 – Paradise on earth is what many say after they have experienced Grenada. This spice island is absolutely gorgeous, bone white sandy beaches, beautiful mountain lakes and fauna filled rain-forests, Grenada is amazing. Grand-Anse beach, the island’s most popular beach, is stunning, 3 miles of pure white sand and calm, crystal clear, turquoise water, makes it oh so good to kick back and relax. Prefer a smaller cove like beach ? There are many hidden along Grenada’s jagged coastline. Looking for more of a nature retreat? Visit Grand Etang lake and nature park. At the summit of this dormant volcano lays a beautiful lake and just a short hike away is a few of the many waterfalls on the Island. Grenada also boasts 1 of the 2 underwater sculpture parks in the world,  a beautiful sight to see.  Grenada offers much to any type of tourist. Thumbs up to you Grenada.

Cayman Islands#2

 

#2 – The Cayman islands, the divers destination of the Caribbean, the Cayman islands are made up of 3 islands ( Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman ). Grand Cayman is filled with resorts and is a great destination for the average tourist. Who just want to relax on the beach  and take in the great sights. Cayman Brac or even Little Cayman, a short sail away, however offers some of  the absolute best diving sites in the Caribbean. Breath taking barrier reefs, swimming with stingrays and amazing scenes make the Cayman islands a great destination for your next Caribbean vacation, I know its on our list.

British Virgin Islands#1

 

#1 – And here we are at number one, we’ve seen all kinds of islands, mountainous, adventurous islands, flatter, beach filled islands and islands focused primarily on relaxation. But you know what? The British Virgin Islands (B.V.I) has all that and more. This chain of islands, made up of 60 different islands, is beautiful and just like the name implies, most of these islands are virtually untouched like a virgin.

These Islands can truly be called a paradise with its lush rain-forests, White sandy beaches and crystal clear water unrivaled within the Caribbean. The British Virgin Islands will hook you, reel you in and you’d just keep coming back for more. and with over 60 islands to explore the possibilities are endless.
